LSM Kiwanis Website

KIWANIS IS A GLOBAL ORGANIZATION OF VOLUNTEERS DEDICATED TO CHANGING THE WORLD ONE CHILD AND ONE COMMUNITY AT A TIME.

* Lake San Marcos Kiwanis is an organization of over 80 members from every walk of life dedicated to serve the children of the world and most especially our own community and its needs.

*  It is an opportunity for men and women to participate in community service together.

*  Members work together to achieve what individuals cannot accomplish alone.

*  We are not a social club although fellowship and friendships are created.

*  We are not affiliated with any religious or political group.

* We meet for lunch at the Lakeside Pavilion each Tuesday at 11:30 am.  A short meeting follows and most weeks, a program with a guest speaker of interest to our members fills out the the time.  The meeting closes promptly at 1:00pm.

*  During the course of the year we have some fundraisers which support our scholarships for high school seniors and junior college students as well as many local organizations who provide services for the community.

*  In addition our members participate in community services of their choice including services to Lake San Marcos Residents such as  The CAReDRVIE Program for medical appointments, Delivery of Meals-on-Wheels, Repair and Replacement of smoke detectors, placement and maintenance of Kiwanis Benches throughout the Lake, and the 55 Alive Defensive Driving Program.

* Our membership costs are currently $120 per year with an additional installation fee when joining.

*  If you are new to our community or new to the idea of Kiwanis come and join us as our guest for lunch any Tuesday or call Marion Dorflinger, Membership Chairman at 471-9961 or current President Don Alexander at 736-4623 or ask your neighbors who will know a Kiwanian in your area.  You are welcome any week to "look us over."
