President’s Message- Jacque Baker
Good News! The San Diego County Board of Supervisors has approved a budget of $1 Million dollars to repair and resurface some of the streets in Lake San Marcos. The repairs are to begin this fall and continue through 2009. Sections of the following streets have been designated to be repaired; San Pablo Dr, San Pablo Ct, San Julian Dr, San Julian Pl, La Sombra, La Reina, La Plaza, La Noche, La Granada, and Jugador Ct. Board Member, Edgar Engert, has worked tirelessly to have the County inspect and repair our roads. Finally the County is listening!
Architectural Control Committee. Most areas of Lake San Marcos are under architectural controls either through their Homeowner Association or the Lake San Marcos Community Association. Any changes made to the exterior of your home, fencing, exterior color, new roofing material, driveway changes, or major landscaping must be submitted to the Architectural Control Committee for approval before work begins. Additionally vehicles, trailers, RV’s, etc are not allowed parked on the streets for longer than 72 hours. Please do your part to keep our community looking beautiful!
Fourth of July! The festivities begin at 10 AM with the flag raising and singing of patriotic songs. Most of the clubs will have booths and there will be food and fun for all culminating with the boat parade. The Lake San Marcos Community Association will have a booth with information, maps and license plates for sale, as well as our Early History Books of Lake San Marcos. These books were written and first printed last year, sold out, and have been reprinted for your enjoyment. The cost is $25 for members and features 128 pages of early Quail Call newsletters and describes life as it was during the first years of Lake San Marcos. Anyone new to the area and even the old timers who remember it when, will enjoy reading this book. Only 100 copies were printed so don’t put off getting yours.
www.QuailCall.com Don’t forget this valuable resource for our community.
