President’s Message by Jacque Baker

Mark your Calendars, the annual membership meeting of the Lake San Marcos Community Association will be held on Tuesday November 18 at 7 pm at the Pavilion.  The meeting will be a chance to review all of the things that have occurred this year and discuss what is so special about Lake San Marcos.  The LSMCA nine member Board of Directors is elected by our members to look after your interests. Members, please look for your ballots in this issue of the Quail Call.  They need to be returned to the Community Association office no later than Friday November 14th.  Not yet a member?  Easy to join by stopping in the Community Association office between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm Monday thru Friday.   Membership is only $36 a year.  Please review the information at the bottom of this page on all the important things this Association does for the residents.

Why did you move to Lake San Marcos?  The LSM Community Association is interested in finding out what attracted you to our community. We are sponsoring a contest with a prize of $100 gift certificate to go to the best response from one of our residents. The common reasons we have heard are that people like the small town feel of our neighborhood, or because the average age was over 55 years old, or because they liked the security of the area.  We are sure there are many reasons we have not heard of and would like to.  Our home prices are approximately 10-20% higher than nearby areas.  Why would people pay this premium to live in Lake San Marcos?  Please let us hear from you, either by email, or dropping us a note.  We will collect all of these responses and post them to our website www.QuailCall.com , discuss them at our annual membership meeting, and award the prize for the most insightful, unusual, and interesting response.  Please send your responses to WhyLSM@QuailCall.com  or drop comments off at our Community Association office before November 14th. While there take a look at our lending library where you can borrow a used book or purchase a copy of our "Early History of Lake San Marcos"
