President’s Message by John Andrew January, 2009 Happy New Year First up is Jack Bloes. He has been on the Board for a year plus as Treasurer. This year Jack will be on the Architectural Control Committee and the Membership Committee. He will also handle special projects. Next is Judy Widener. Judy was elected Treasurer for the coming year and in addition to those duties she will be on the Architectural Control Committee and head up the Nominating Committee next fall. Also, Judy will be organizing Association activities at the Kiwanis 4th of July party. This is Judy’s first year on the Board and the other Board members welcome her. Rich La Farge will again chair the Architectural Control Committee. He has been involved in this area for many years. His outstanding efforts are much appreciated. In addition, he will be on the Homeowners Association Liaison Committee. Jim Brennan will continue to serve on the Road and Street Repairs Committee. This will be Jim’s third year on the Board. Additionally Jim will serve on the Homeowners Association Liaison Committee and the Security Liaison and Traffic Committee. Jim is one of three board members designated to interface with Citizens Development Corporation on behalf of the Association. As President of the Colony Homeowners Association Jim will be a very busy man. Edgar Engert was elected this year to another two year term. Edgar will be on the Road and Street Repairs Committee, act as liaison with Ken Beall has been Assistant Editor of the Quail Call for the past several months. He will continue in that capacity as well as participating on the Security Liaison and Traffic Committee. Ken is starting his third year on the Board. Carol Alexander is beginning her second year as a board member and will continue to serve as Secretary. In addition, Carol will serve on the Architectural Control Committee, the Membership Committee, and the Security Liaison and Traffic Committee. The Club Fair activities at the pavilion are being chaired by Carol and this year’s event will be Saturday, January 17, from Vice President this year is Eli Whitney. Eli is starting his fourth year on the Association Board and will continue his excellent efforts on the Architectural Control Committee, groundwater and I am beginning my fourth year on the Association Board. I plan to continue serving on the Architectural Control Committee, as secretary. I will continue on the Security Liaison and Traffic, Citizens Development Corporation Liaison, Bookkeeping and Records, and Lease Activities Committees.
