ABOUT ME Email Me

Hi, I´m Jacque Baker. That´s short for Jacqueline and is pronounced "Jackie" . I´m a Real Estate Broker in North San Diego County and have been in Real Estate in one form or another since the 1970´s when I was first licensed. This Real Estate Business is a long family tradition with my brothers, brother in law, aunt, cousins, daughter, as well as my mother have bought and sold property as long as I can remember. So I come by my love of everything Real Estate naturally and love waking up in the morning to see what wonderful new things have happened overnight to my world. Which is why I am now blogging.
GROWING UP
Growing up, we were in the Navy. My father was a Navy Pilot which meant we moved every two or three years to the far ends of this country. From Virginia, to Cuba, to Hawaii, to New Mexico, and finally to San Diego, I´ve seen most areas. My love of traveling was developed at a young age. This has helped me to better understand the trials of relocating and better able to help my relocation buyers with settling into lovely San Diego, especially my beloved North County.
EDUCATION
Settling into San Diego in the 1960´s, I´ve seen this area develop and grow- sometimes good and sometimes bad. First living in East County in El Cajon, graduating from Grossmont High School and College, then graduating from San Diego State College (yes before it was a University) with a degree in Social Sciences (I was planning to be a teacher!). Plans were derailed by getting married and having children, moving to the wilderness of Oregon where we were the original wilderness family owning and operating a lake resort and campground- but that is a whole other story!
SAN DIEGO LIVING
Back to the big city, I decided to combine teaching and helping buyers and sellers. At various times in my Real Estate related career, I´ve specialized in selling Residential Property, Business Opportunities, and Property Management. I am a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the North San Diego County Association of Realtors.
TECHNOLOGY
I especially love using technology with Real Estate, having neighborhood websites for years and seeing the value of connecting online with people. Blogging is new, talking about all things Real Estate is not! Posting video´s online is new, sharing property photos is not. Google earth and birds eye views are new, knowledge of great neighborhoods is not. Adding the bells and whistles of technology enhances the capability of what I do best, sharing information, teaching buyers and sellers, and helping everyone have the absolute best experience they can when time comes to buy a new home or relocate to a new neighborhood.
HOBBIES AND OTHER INTERESTS
Apart from Real Estate, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, good and dear friends and past clients who are now dear friends. I also enjoy buying, fixing up, and selling my own investment property with my husband, John Steever, who is a great general contractor and can make silk purses out of sow´s ears. I also live to take day trips to the mountains, deserts, and beaches of Southern California, exploring new places in and around San Diego County (and sharing them with you) and when I really REALLY have the time, I delve into my love of genealogy and family history, tracing my roots back to the very earliest days of our country which has fostered a patriotic pride in everything American. I love our Country, love our God, hate our politics, and love the principals and values that our Founders fought and died for. I apply those same principals and values to my daily life, my family, and especially to my Real Estate Business.
REFERRALS
My past clients are my biggest referrals. Not only have I helped them to make this huge investment, but most have become dear friends and I am now helping their children and friends as well. I strive to exceed every expectation and make your real estate transaction as easy and stress free as possible. I also give my promise that "Your Greatest Asset is My Greatest Concern"!
JACQUE'S TEAM
Inez
My trusty iphone that I am lost without. She replaced Belle the Blackberry just this past month and boy is she a wiz. She is ever patient with me, doesn´t give up and go home when I push too many of her buttons or manage to knock her on the head while tapping at her screen. As long as I recharge her regularly she just keeps on going 24/7, wants no retirement or health package although I did get her a warrantee just in case. She just loves being with me, even sings to me, reads to me, and hears all the interesting conversations I seem to get into all the while keeping track of my schedule. She can even find my way out when I am hopelessly lost in a maze of streets and houses!
Connie
My hand built computer is the brains behind everything, even Inez. She keeps us focused, organized, entertained, and her webcam always challenges me to look my best. If I ask too many things of her at one time, she will just stop and tell me to slow down. She is full of tutorials on everything I need to learn quickly, and even knows when to force me to learn. She can be very stubborn that way. I dearly love her though as she asks for very little, no raises or bonuses but once in a while a chance to go to sleep. Don´t we all need that? Her fancy new wide screen monitor even makes me look good. She has a heart of gold and a brain of silicon.
Candy
My Canon Powershot SX20 IS Camera is usually with me, particularly when I am going to some very interesting places. She records videos and photos of neighborhoods and homes, me sometimes talking (too much?) and always with filters to make everything look so much better. She is one of my most trusted and reliable team members.
Holly
My all-in-one HP officejet printer, fax machine, copier is in charge of all the marketing pieces. She too works all hours of the day and night, needing only to be fed a steady diet of ink and toner and presentation paper. Although she has been with me for close to 5 years now, she is invaluable and won´t easily be replaced anytime soon, although I know I am wearing her out. Sometimes she just jams up and needs to take a break, so I try to keep her healthy and not overworked. Someday she´ll just retire and enjoy her old age sitting and watching the rest of the younger team members.
Lexie
My trusty Lexus, keeps me moving quickly and smoothly, stopping only at red lights and parking stalls. She too has been with me for 6 years although she has a lot of life still in her, I know the miles are gradually catching up with her. Someday we both know she´ll be replaced with a shiny newer model with all the bells and whistles but until then, she just keeps going.
The rest of the team
And finally, I would be remiss without mentioning my Escrow Agent, Title Representative, and Preferred Lender who are all part of the inner circle, working tirelessly on your behalf to make your experience the best ever. They have the customer service skills that the rest of my team sometimes lack and can make everything happen and move mountains . No obstacle is too challenging, they are always available and on call for my most important client- YOU!
